Bachelor and Master Theses

In addition to experimental applications on our forming machines, the PtU gives you the opportunity to improve your design and simulation skills. The various forming processes in our two production facilities, together with software for design, simulation and numerics in our student computer labs, offer a wide range of opportunities. We would be happy to discuss the contents in person during a visit of the institute and experimental facilities. Feel free to contact us.

Bachelor Theses

The Bachelor thesis comprises 12 CP and thus corresponds to a workload of 360 hours. After registering at the Mechcenter, a period of five months is intended for working on the thesis. In the event of illness or, for example, absences or waiting times for which the student is not responsible, the duration may be extended.

The Bachelor thesis is usually supervised by a research assistant at PtU. We also offer cooperative Bachelor theses.

After the successful completion of the thesis, it is often possible to continue working on the research topic as a student assistant.

Current Bachelor Theses

Master Theses

The Master thesis comprises 30 CP and thus corresponds to a workload of 900 hours. After registering at the Mechcenter, a period of six months is intended for working on the thesis. In the event of illness or, for example, absences or waiting times for which the student is not responsible, the duration may be extended. Master theses can be written in both German and English.

After the Master thesis there is often the possibility to continue working on the research topic as a research assistant. The PtU offers a wide range of vacancies for this purpose.
