Material characterization using various testing methods to determine the mechanical properties of materials and components plays an essential role in the design and evaluation of forming processes. For this purpose, the Institute for Production Engineering and Forming Machines has two tensile-compression testing machines from ZwickRoell. The institute is looking for a student assistant to operate and maintain the equipment, who will support the responsible research assistant in supervising the testing machines and independently carry out various testing tasks. The primary tasks are:

• Performing and evaluating tensile, cylinder compression and flat compression tests
• Instructing and supporting the research assistants and students with regard to testing tasks
• Maintenance and servicing of the tensile compression testing machines

Furthermore, there is the opportunity to contribute your own expertise to the further development of the institute's own tools for flow curve calculation and/or to deal with topics such as the performance of tests with thermo-graphy and dynamic deformation analysis as well as the inverse FE simulation of the tests.
