Optimizing the roll forming process – New potentials for industrial applications by extending process limits

Roll forming high-strength steels pushes materials to their limits – damage and failure are real risks. In order to get more out of the process, targeted measures can be used to extend the process limits.

In this thesis, you will use FEM simulations to develop and evaluate the influence of these measures on the roll forming process. The results can be incorporated directly into the design and construction of a new roll forming line and the measures can be investigated experimentally.
