Rotary swaging enables the efficient production of rotationally symmetrical components with considerable material savings, making it ideal for future shaft production.
The rotary swaging process has so far been designed purely on the basis of experience, which makes it competitive almost exclusively for medium and large series. Preliminary investigations of the rotary feed angle – a process-describing variable in rotary swaging – revealed a dependency on component quality. The simulation of the rotary feed angle represents a challenge.
In this thesis, an existing simulation is to be extended by a detailed parameter study. This simulation must be further optimised in terms of memory requirements and simulation time. Furthermore, various critical parameters are to be identified and analysed.
