After intensive years of interdisciplinary collaboration, the final meeting of our BioStruX joint research project recently took place. We worked on the technology transfer of the Linear Flow Splitting and Split Profile Bending processes with a consortium from science, industry and practice. The project results and applications such as large-diameter bearings were summarised positively at the final meeting.

As part of the BioStruX project, a flexibly automated linear flow splitting system was developed and built. The system, which has found its place in the Smart Forming Centre of the PtU in Darmstadt, was demonstrated live to all partners. With this system, different product variants can be produced much faster than before. We are particularly proud of the constructive collaboration, the many joint findings and the practical results that will be incorporated into further research and industrial implementation. The project is a clear example of what successful co-operation at eye level can look like.

A big thank you to all the partners, associated partners, supporters and funding organisations who made BioStruX possible! The BioStruX project was funded by the Technology Transfer Programme Lightweight Construction of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection under the reference 03LB2011A. We would like to thank the project management organisation Jülich for the successful project implementation.
