Welcome, Tim Schmitt!
2024/07/26
Since 15.06.2024 Tim Schmitt strengthens our team as a research assistant at PtU. Mr. Schmitt is responsible for the project . “Strain actuators 2 – Design methods of novel strain actuators as a means of process control and stabilization – Phase 2”
The aim of the project is to investigate the novel actuator principle of paraffin-based expansion actuators. These consist of two sheet metal cups produced using forming technology and a kerosene filling as the active medium and have a particularly high energy density.
He also completed his Master's thesis at the institute. It is entitled “Implementation of double-acting wedge gears in paraffin-based expansion actuators”. In this practice-oriented thesis, a concept for the integration of self-locking wedge gears in cylindrical expansion actuators was developed. The geared actuators enable energy-efficient use of this new actuator principle. We look forward to a successful cooperation!
