The 21st century laboratory at PtU

As part of the REACT-EU project funded by the European Union, the Institute's machinery is being strengthened by a servo motor spindle press and a cobot (collaborative robot) .

The REACT-EU research project aims to develop an end-to-end digitised and flexible manufacturing cell for the 21st century testing field. Against the backdrop of pandemics, climate protection and changing work models, industrial production and research operations are to be further developed towards remote compatibility in the future.

The servo motor spindle press from the company H&T and the cooperative robot UR10e represent an important building block here. As part of the planned production cell, the robot is characterised by a flexible and intuitive operating concept. Coupled with its communication interfaces and technical performance data, it offers a wide range of possible applications in production and forming technology. Especially the press-robot communication is the focus of the project.

The new test field environment is met with enthusiasm by doctoral students and workshop employees alike and has already inspired numerous questions.
