Students produce PtU Christmas greetings cards

The students of the lecture “Umformtechnik 1” came together in the lecture hall for the last time this year on 20.12.2022. Shortly before Christmas, this always means a change from the conventional lecture schedule for the students. The last “Umformtechnik 1” lecture of a year is traditionally always held by the two youngest members of the PtU staff.

In an interactive format, Jonas Moske and Stefan Kraus first introduced the students to paper as a sustainable material, and then together they selected a suitable process for the forming production of the PtU Christmas greeting cards.

Finally, the students used this process – active media-based forming – to produce the Christmas greeting cards using a pneumatic press in combination with an additively manufactured counterform. They were able to investigate the effects of different forming pressures and varying paper moisture on the forming result.
