SPP2013 Consortial Meeting in Darmstadt

On 12 and 13 October 2022, the PtU organised the 6th consortium meeting of the DFG priority programme SPP2013 “Targeted use of forming-induced residual stresses in metallic components” in cooperation with the MPA/IfW. Within the programme, more than 25 research institutions across Germany are investigating in 12 projects how forming-induced residual stresses can be used positively.

Particularly appreciated was the keynote speech by Professor Sonsino, head of department at the Fraunhofer Institute for Structural Durability LBF and recent winner of the August Wöhler Medal. At the end of the first day, the guests were invited to a joint dinner at the “Grohe” restaurant in Darmstadt. In the afternoon of the second day, the research areas and facilities of the PtU were presented during a guided tour of the institute.
