Working group meetings of the GCFG

For the first time in three years, the working group meetings of the German Cold Forging Group (GCFG) were held in presence at PtU in Darmstadt on 4th and 5th October. In the sessions of the three working groups Tribology/Tools, Processes and Materials, new research questions were discussed and the results of ongoing projects relating to solid forming were presented.

In interesting presentations on October 4th, the PtU (Philipp Gehringer , Alessandro Franceschi, Christoph Kuhn , Philipp Schumann , Stefan Volz ) also contributed to a lively discussion with new research ideas and findings. In the direct exchange between guests from research and industry, new possible fields of research were thus identified.

In the afternoon, the research areas and facilities of the PtU were presented during a guided tour of the institute. A highlight was the demonstration of the self developed 3D servo press. At the end of the first day, the guests were invited to a dinner and get-together at the restaurant “Sitte” in Darmstadt.
