Girls' Day at PtU

During this year's Girls' Day, the PtU organized a workshop on the topic of sustainability in production technology, in which schoolgirls aged 10-14 participated.

The schoolgirls were able to gain a good insight into research concerning the forming of paper as a sustainable resource. After an introduction to the technical basics of paper forming, the girls constructed their own paper forming tools with their own designs and formed paper with them.

Afterwards, the students dealt with the technical basics of machine design. Using a miniature press, the students were able to do some simple metal bending themselves to create a cell phone holder. The pupils then had the opportunity to use their own creativity to design a multi-axis stamping machine and discuss their designs with the mentors.
