New digital microscope

As part of the funding program “Hochschulpakt 2020” of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research the technical equipment of the metallographic and metrological laboratory of the PtU was modernized with the new automatic and digital microscope Smartzoom 5 by Zeiss.
With the possibility of a fully automatic creation of microscopic images with functions such as photo-stitching or photo-stacking students can now improve the speed, reproducibility and reliability during their practical exercises in which they investigate in-depth insights in forming technology. Further on, the new hardware and software equipment of the microscope enables new possibilities for the analysis and measurement of specimens at the PtU.
