Aims
  • Evaluate the application and use of machine tools and differentiate between them in terms of their characteristics and design.
  • Describe and discuss essential components and assemblies of machine tools (frame and foundation, guideways, drives, peripherals, control and regulation, measurement technology and safety devices)
  • Description of the technical and physical functioning of the relevant elements
  • Select, design and evaluate mechanical components and select them according to the manufacturing process and design/derive the machine tools

Examination dates
Exam The examinations will take place as a combined module examination consisting of a written and an oral part.

Examination registration takes place as follows:
1) Date arrangement via Moodle
2) Registration in TUCaN

Please note: An application for the oral examination in TUCaN without a prior registration at Moodle is invalid.
Details about the exam will be announced in time during the lecture.

Instructions for taking the exam
Is a login via TUCaN not possible, please contact your study office. Participation in an examination is only possible after registration has been completed. For reasons of room planning, this is also necessary for students of industrial engineering. The registration deadline for the written exams on the web is up to 1 month, deregistration is possible up to 8 days before the exam date.
