The interfacial heat transfer coefficient (IHTC) describes the heat transfer across the interfaces of solid body contacts. At the Institute for Production Engineering and Forming Machines (PtU), the IHTC is experimentally determined using a specially developed test rig. Due to unresolved influencing factors, a reliable determination of the IHTC is currently only possible to a limited extent. The goal is therefore to optimize and further develop the existing test setup.

Your tasks:

• Conduct experimental investigations to determine the IHTC under varying contact conditions
• constructive improvement of the existing test rig
• Optional: Development and enhancement of coupled thermo-mechanical numerical simulation models
