Following Cédric Brunk's research visit to the Lappeenranta-Lahti University of Technology (LUT) in Finland in February, a return visit by postdoctoral researcher Sanaz Afshariantorghabeh to the Institute of Production Engineering and Forming Machines (PtU) in Darmstadt has now taken place.

Ms. Afshariantorghabeh and Mr. Brunk continued their joint investigations into the forming of coated paper. The focus was on bulge tests to assess biaxial stresses as well as forming tests in active media-based forming and deep drawing. This allowed the research on material pre-treatment and the thermoforming of natural fibre-based materials, which had previously been started at the LUT, to be further deepened.
