Since the winter semester 2024/2025, Janek Reisener has been part of the Excellence Program – “Forming Your Future” at PtU. Within the scope of this program, Mr. Reisener will focus on the recycling of waste and by-products from the metal processing industry. Currently, conventional metal recycling relies on energy-intensive remelting in blast furnaces.

To improve both material and energy efficiency in recycling, innovative cold forging process chains are being explored as a promising alternative. In this context, process chain uncertainties will be identified and analyzed to determine the limits with respect to the required material and process parameters. The aim of his scientific work is to develop a robust and reproducible recycling process for transforming waste and by-products into sustainable forged components.
