At the Institute for Production Engineering and Forming Machines (PtU) at the Technical University of Darmstadt, we attach great importance to excellence in research, so we are delighted that the dissertation of our former senior engineer, Lukas Schell, has been honoured with the prestigious Manfred Hirschvogel Prize. This prize is awarded at the TU9 Universities for the best dissertation of the previous year in the fields of mechanical engineering and economics.

In his dissertation, Lukas Schell developed a methodology for the targeted development and validation of model tests in non-isothermal sheet metal forming, thus making an important contribution to improving the validation of properties and transparency in experimental research.

The outstanding scientific results of his work emphasise the high relevance of research at the PtU, and we warmly congratulate Lukas Schell on this well-deserved honour and look forward to further exciting developments in this field.
