Since 15.08.2024 Jonas Bart joins our team as a research associate at PtU. Mr. Bart takes over the UMFO – Resource-saving forming process technology for the manufacture of lightweight structural components in vehicle construction project.

The aim of the project is the production of width-variable profiles by using flexible roll forming. The research focuses on the new manufacturing process called Flexible Strip Width Reduction Rolling for resource-efficient semi-finished product production, as well as the influence of introduced material inhomogeneity on the roll forming process.

He also completed his bachelor's and master's theses at the institute. As part of his bachelor's thesis, a test rig for longitudinal seam welding of high-strength aluminium tubes was constructed. In his master's thesis, an active-elastic blank holder for deep drawing of paper was developed.
