Freya Wolfenstädter has been part of the Excellence Program – “Forming Your Future” at PtU since the summer semester 2024. As part of the programme, Mrs. Wolfenstädter will focus on the development of potential concepts for an analogy experiment to analyse wear phenomena during roll forming. In roll forming processes, inhomogeneous tribological loads along the roll shell surface lead to unwanted wear effects on the sheet and roll. Countermeasures are currently being investigated in real-life tests, which is time-consuming, costly and resource-intensive. Therefore, it is desirable to develop a tribometer so wear effects can be analysed economically and efficiently.
