IDDRG 2024 – Novel Forming Methods and Roll Forming in Australia!

2024/04/05

Novel Forming Methods and Roll Forming in Australia! The 43rd Conference of the International Deep Drawing Research Group, IDDRG 2024, was held on 12th-15th March 2024 in Melbourne, Australia. Among others, the Australian industry and two of our employees presented on the topic of roll forming.

Franziska Aign presented her latest research results on a new process for manufacturing tailored thickness stringers for aircraft, the flexible T-profile-rolling. Johannes Kilz presented a new control method for obtaining straight roll-formed profiles by partial rolling. Both processes contribute to more sustainable production in the future through improved resource efficiency.

The conference was hosted by the Institute for Frontier Materials der Deakin University, where our two colleagues will be conducting research on roll forming until mid-April. A huge thank you to the organizers, speakers, and attendees for making IDDRG 2024 a memorable and enriching experience.
