2024/04/04

Konichiwa!

From 11 to 15 March, the PtU took part in the International Seminar on Precision Forging (ISPF) in Kyoto (Japan), which was organized by the Japanese Society for Technology of Plasticity (JSTP) .

The PtU was represented with two presentations. Professor Groche , winner of the 2023 JSTP Prize, gave a keynote lecture entitled Flexible-Forming – A key factor for Suistainable Manufacturing. Our employee Christoph Kuhn was invited as part of a Young Reseacher Program and gave a lecture on the possibilities of functionally enhanced lubricant systems for process monitoring in cold forging.

As part of the seminar, the companies Aichi Steel Corp., Toyota Motor Corp., Sakamura Machine CO. Ltd. and NICHIDAI Corp. were visited.

In addition to the scientific and professional exchange, the Japanese food culture, historical temples and the beginning of the chickpea blossom season could be marveled at! The PtU would like to thank the international colleagues for the scientific discussions and the lively exchange as well as the companies visited for the very exciting insights into their production. Many thanks to Prof. Kitamaru and the JSTP for the excellently organized seminar.
