Janosch Günzel hat erfolgreich promoviert

On October 31, 2023, the successful disputation of our former research assistant Janosch Günzel took place. His dissertation is entitled „Multi-stage forming of high-strength aluminum alloys“.

In view of the growing use of high-strength aluminum alloys in industry, Mr. Günzel has identified and developed possible process routes for processing these in multi-stage forming. The focus here is on the comparison with single-stage processes, as well as the material, temperature and forming behavior in the individual stages. A four-stage demonstrator tool was developed for this purpose, which includes drawing, punching and upsetting operations.

The investigations on the tool focus on temperature-supported process routes, which were examined and evaluated in terms of mechanical component properties, cost-effectiveness, component geometry and robustness. The feasibility of forming high-strength aluminum alloys in multi-stage forming processes was thus demonstrated.
