The PtU set out on October 5^th, 2023 to visit the renowned Hörmann Automotive plant in Gustavsburg. The plant tour granted participants the opportunity to experience industrial practice and innovative production processes and to learn about complex production processes at Hörmann Automotive. Current trend topics also came up in the discussions with the experts from Hörmann Automotive. In particular, the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into production was in focus.

The possibility of using machine learning and data-driven processes in manufacturing was discussed as an important step towards quality in production. The excursion to the Hörmann Automotive Gustavsburg plant not only provided the PtU with an interesting insight into the practice of industrial production, but also with valuable suggestions and impulses for future research projects. In the second part of the PtU excursion, PtU employees get fascinating insights behind the scenes of the leading television station ZDF. The PtU experienced state-of-the-art studio technology, newsrooms and news production up close. The history of the station and its contribution to the media landscape came alive during the tour.
