With more than 600 participants, the Titanium World Conference is one of the most important events in the international titanium community. In an extensive program of lectures, poster presentations, industrial exhibitions and excursions, current research and development results were recently discussed in the Scottish capital Edinburgh. This year, Germany provided the fourth largest fraction of participants after China, the USA and England and thus occupies an important place in the international titanium community.

With the participation of the PtU Institute, German titanium research with process and product innovations was presented in the keynote session and numerous talks. In addition, the PtU provided the session chair for the topic Forming, Machining & Joining. The current research around nanocrystalline implants met with great interest.

The highlight of this year's conference was the conference dinner at the Scottish National Museum, where the decisive sentence was uttered between the main course and dessert: “And … the next Titanium World Conference … goes to … Berlin!”, which was not only acknowledged by the almost 50 German participants with great jubilation. Thus, the next Titanium World Conference will take place in Berlin in 2027.
