The “42nd Conference of the International Deep Drawing Research Group”, IDDRG 2023, took place from June 19 to 22 in Luleå (Sweden). During the conference, two of our research associates had the opportunity to present recent research results to an international audience of experts. Alexander Breunig presented a passive cardanic blank holder in his paper, which can be used to compensate for a non-uniform distribution of pressure on the flange of deep-drawn parts. The paper presented by Simon Biffar lays the foundation for the resource-optimized design of structural sheet metal parts by investigating the behavior of stringer sheet parts under static and dynamic loads.

Besides the presentations, there was ample opportunity for both technical exchange and networking with colleagues from academia and industry.
