In the current issue of the trade journal massivUMFORMUNG of the Industrieverband Massiumformung e.V., you will find many exciting articles about solid forming as well as two interesting contributions from the PtU.

The article “Numerical design and experimental investigation of strategies for profile rolling” deals with the numerical design of profile rolling processes and shows, using the example of a radial round groove, that the process limits can be significantly influenced by designing the shape of the rolling tools.

The second contribution “Tribology of ejection” sheds light on the influence of different tribological systems on the ejection forces in cold forging. Furthermore, it is shown how the required ejection forces can be reduced by up to 50% by specifically influencing the die preload during the ejection process.
