Florian Dietrich has successfully completed his doctorate

The successful disputation of our former research assistant Florian Dietrich took place on 28.06.2022. His dissertation is entitled “Methodology for transferring tribological effects from model tests into the method planning of car body components”.

In it, Mr Dietrich dealt with the development of a methodology for integrating tribological effects into numerical simulations of car body drawing processes as part of an external dissertation at Opel Automobile GmbH. Through process analyses in industry and in the laboratory as well as tribological investigations, a suitable model could be implemented in the FEM. The FEM simulation was successfully validated by feasibility studies and field tests.

His work provides the basis for the implementation across the sheet of variable tribological properties in a simulation of car body drawing.
