UT-Excursion winter term

Beside an extensive insight about the development activities and the spectrum of components, the students also got an exclusive tour through the production plant of sheet metal parts for the automotive sector. Subsequent to lunch, the group continued the trip to the lubricant manufacturer Zeller + Gmelin GmbH & Co. KG in Eislingen. Here, the students got an insight into the production of lubricants for sheet metal and massive forming processes as well as into the accompanying laboratories. In the evening hours the group arrived in Augsburg. After the evening meal the group went into the old town and enjoyed a pleasant evening.

The following day, the company Hirschvogel Umformtechnik GmbH was visited. In an extensive presentation the students received an insight into the areas of activity and the spectrum of components that are designed and produced by Hirschvogel. The presentation was followed by an exceptional tour through the production lines. During the tour the students could feel the heat and power of the forming processes first hand. After a collective lunch, the group traveled back to Darmstadt.
