New 5-axis-miling machine
Purchase of a milling centre within the Hochschulpakt 2020

As part of the funding program “Hochschulpakt 2020” of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research and together with the Institute of Production Management, Technology and Machine Tools, the machine park was modernized with a new 5-axis-CNC-milling machine DMF180|7 from DMG MORI.
This traveling column milling machine of the 2nd generation allows with the current-state-of-the-art-5-axis technology an increase of teaching quality. For students, it enables the ability to realize their projects with new and complex components, which can be transmitted via the CAD/CAM interface directly to the machine. In addition, the milling machine is used within research projects, such as the machine hammer peening of free-form surfaces. This allows to process even more complex surface shapes.
