The aim of this project is to adjust the renewable material paper on to the requirements of the construction industry. The use of paper as structural material provides the opportunity contributing to environmental protection. For the usage of paper as structural material, issues of different sections like connection, 3-dimensional forming, rigidity and weather resistance have to be solved. Therefore, researchers from the faculties paper technology, chemistry, civil engineering, architecture and forming technology united within the priority program, to qualify the material paper for construction applications.

Within this project the PtU will form large-scale paper structures by hydroforming. Additionally, a new method for an individual shaping of paper and paper-based composites will be developed by the researchers of PtU.
