Within the lecture “forming technology”, the PtU regularly offers an excursion for the attending students to selected companies. This term, the excursion took place on 18th and 19th of January, 2017. After an early start in Darmstadt, the company Läpple Automotive GmbH in Heilbronn was visited. go

Purchase of a milling centre within the Hochschulpakt 2020
As part of the funding program “Hochschulpakt 2020” of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research and together with the Institute of Production Management, Technology and Machine Tools, the machine park was modernized with a new 5-axis-CNC-milling machine DMF180|7 from DMG MORI. go
In occasion of the 5th Workshop Machine Hammer Peening at the Institute for Production Engineering and Forming Machines (PtU) on November 2nd and 3rd, 43 participants interested in the technology of Machine Hammer Peening came together to discuss the latest achievements and developments in the field of automated surface modification. go
From 4th to 7th September, the annual meeting of the International Cold Forging Group (ICFG) took place in Stuttgart. This event offers with numerous workshops, industry-related and scientific presentations a platform for the exchange of innovations in cold forging. go
At the beginning of the year the research project FricON: Advanced friction consideration in sheet metal forming simulation was completed successfully. The two-year-project was funded by the Hessen Agentur. go
