Datenbasierte Inline-Zustandsüberwachung für mehrstufige Hochgeschwindigkeits-Umformprozesse

data-based inline condition monitoring for predictiave maintance in multi-stage high speed forming processes

Masterthesis, Bachelorthesis, Advanced Design Project (ADP)

The aim of this student project is the experimental investigation of tool wear in a progressive mould. For this purpose, an inline monitoring system (force, acceleration, temperature and structure-borne sound) is extended by a newly developed camera system from Fraunhofer IGD for optical quality control. The focus of the work is the systematic recording and processing of the various sensor signals in order to generate the database for model-based wear detection.

Task definition:

  • Artificial introduction of wear characteristics in the tool stages
  • Investigation of the interactions from different process steps
  • Carrying out wear tests on a high-performance automatic punching press
  • Development of a methodology for systematic data preparation
  • Correlation of the introduced wear features with the image- and time-series-based sensor signals
